Before there was an award-winning novel called Jewels of Kidron, there were miniatures I had built to help me tell the story of Angelina and Katie to others. I spent many hours collecting and building some of the scenes from the book as they also helped me to crystallize the story which become Jewels of Kidron.
While they are not included in my book, I thought you might enjoy seeing them, as they unfold the story I eventually wrote into my first novel. They are a significant part of my creative process. I was inspired by the young girls at The Tennyson Center in Denver, Colorado, who allowed me to be a witness to their own grieving and healing process. That meaningful work is still with me every day, as are those courageous young girls. They changed my life and helped to shape me into the author I am today.
