Sometimes I find plot lines while hanging laundry on the clothesline, under the warmth of the sun, with the sound of the birds, which can be pretty mindless. In fact, my mind wanders quite a bit while I hang out laundry. Yesterday, it wandered into the pages of the work-in-progress, book two, Danger of Deeds Undone. Searching for the next plot line for Angelina and Katie, I found them in the Nursery of the Enchanted Woods. They’re safe for the moment. But if you’ve read Jewels of Kidron, you know they aren’t often safe for long!
Plot Of Chasing Danger, Again
Anyway, I found them in the library on the Nursery grounds, searching for books, family papers, documents, or even maps. They have to find something that would tell them how to reach the one person who might be able to save the Woods. They must stop the hunter’s plan to turn the Enchanted Woods into a resort. Even if they find what they need in this plot line, they still have the challenge of taming the voices in their heads. Angelina doesn’t trust herself, still hearing her father telling her she’s stupid. Katie doesn’t trust any member of the male species, even if Sim, a patient and sensitive young man, wants to care for her.
Weather changes the Plotline
The wind picked up, and the sheets began to flap like sails. I realized the weather was changing in the Woods, too. Fall was settling in, and they might encounter snow while traveling over the mountains that surrounded the valley that protects the Nursery. When they fled to the safety of the Nursery, I hadn’t prepared them for this extended journey. They’ll need some warm clothes and additional food. They won’t be able to find much by foraging this time of year. And they’ll have to take the donkey with them to carry everything. My imagination began to spin.
Soon, all the wash was hung. I needed to go in for another load. I hope my mind wanders to a solution before all the sheets are done!
